CAM at ALL4PACK Emballage 22

ALL4PACK Emballage is over and the CAM group was glad to take part again in this international exhibition. This is a very important fair, its first edition was in 1947, that revolves around Packaging, Processing, Printing and Logistics solutions for all sectors of activity related to the packaging and intralogistics industry.  More than ever, this year, All4Pack wanted to reflect the changing environment, focusing on new challenges for a sustainable development in the world of packaging. This year, we displayed our new nMX-C blister packaging machine in the version with separate cutting die (patent pending) and a new thermoforming material path. This is a brand-new solution, designed to minimize the space needed for the blister packaging machine in the cleanroom. The primary packaging process on the blister machine ends with the film sealing; the blister cutting operations are already part of the secondary packaging and splitting them makes it possible to significantly reduce the size of the cleanroom, thus providing an economic and environmental advantage. The benefits of the new CAM Blister cutting unit are not limited to reducing the necessary cleanroom space, its new waste management logic allows only compliant blisters to be deposited on the belt, non-compliant blisters are ejected and separated according to waste type.  The nMX-C is equipped with the new Omnia feeder, able to feed any kind of tablets, oblong, hard or soft-shell capsules, etc., at a higher speed than conventional feeders. Morover, we displayed the ZR outfeed/infeed compact rotary magazine for blisters stacked in cartridge, which is a rotary magazine designed to enable the storage of blister packs, stacked and oriented in cardboard/plastic cartridges, and their subsequent retrieval for packaging in cartons according to production needs. ZR Enables to split up conventional blister line into two separate processes with easy blister collection and feeding, guaranteeing the possibility of producing also in cases of a scheduled shutdown of one of the machines in the line and to collect the blisters into cartridges easy to handle, pack, ship and distribute, also offering the possibility of packaging the blisters produced in a separate plant from the production one. CAM at Pack Expo 22

PACK EXPO Chicago is over and the CAM group was glad to take part again in this international exhibition, which was cancelled in 2020 due to the covid pandemic. We were very pleased to have had visitors from all over the world, because this is a very important fair that revolves around all packaging solutions, particularly in the Food and Beverage industry and it was a great opportunity to discover a wide array of processing equipment and integrated solutions for products’ processing and packaging lines. This year, we displayed our PMM machine (intermittent motion horizontal cartoner), a cartoning machine which, thanks to its utmost flexibility, is the perfect choice in a continuously evolving market. It is designed to even process cartons with a special closure and thickness by 1,2 mm. This special carton has been certified as CHILD RESISTANT, since thanks to the special design and tuck in closing type, it makes it impossible to be opened without a special key. Moreover, we displayed our HV machine (high speed continuous motion horizontal cartoner). Its cantilever structure, separating the mechanical transmission from the product/carton handling areas, guarantees total accessibility for machine inspection purposes and immediate elimination of product/packaging material residue, in compliance with GMP norms. The exclusive carton erection system incorporating a continuous motion 5-station turret, each station separately driven by closed-profile cams for carton pick-off at zero speed, allows for total and progressive carton pre-breaking to be carried-out in a time period longer than the machine cycle. The HV is equipped with the Hydra system , the system that keeps the machine in operation even in case of faulty components. Thanks to all our visitors who came to meet us, we await you at the next Pack Expo! Follow us on Facebook , Instagram, Linkedin

CAM at Achema 22

We are glad to inform you that Achema 22 exhibition 2022 is over and it was a success. It has been a great event for the world of packaging in the pharmaceutical industry. We had a lot of visitors from over 70 countries. This year, we displayed a complete blister line with nMX-C (blister packer) in a compact version with SLP separate cutting die. This is a brand-new solution, designed to minimize the size of the blister packaging machine, which is installed in the cleanroom, this machine is equipped with the new Omnia feeder, able to feed any kind of tablets. The blisters that are released can either be forwarded to the HV machine (horizontal cartoner) and packed into standard cartons ready to be sold, either be stored by the ZR system (outfeed/infeed compact rotary magazine for blisters stacked in cartridge) in large containers, for possible subsequent uses or cartooning. The line is completed by our Track and Trace machine for the traceability of the single sale product. Moreover, we displayed also the MS machine (rotary continuous motion bottle cleaning machine with blowing/suction system). The peculiarity of CAM booth is not only in the machines, as usual this year we gave it an artistic touch thanks to Asako’s works and her new creative interpretation of the typical packaging shapes. We await you at the next Achema! Follow us on Facebook , Instagram, Linkedin

The origins of italian Packaging

In 1949 Antonio Martelli, in a small workshop in via della Salita, just outside porta san Vitale in Bologna, produced that first automatic machine to manufacture wallets, it was used to cut and weld plastic for those products. That machine was sold to REGIS and right after that the production of dosing and modelling machines for chocolates and washing powder started. CAM started designing and producing the first italian cartoning machines, and the main innovation was the carton opening blade, designed and patented by Antonio Martelli. It was a simple double blade mechanism installed on hinges, which, once inserted inside the flat carton, opened it and put it in volume. At the beginning of the fifties CAM started expanding. In 1966 Guglielmo, Antonio’s son, took on his fathers’ job and started the construction of a new facility in Rastignano, which today is still in use. Through the years the machine range has also expanded so that complete packaging lines for all industrial sectors can be offered, among which are the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food ones. Today the CAM brand is a well-known group and it consists of 14 manufacturing companies, 19 sales offices, with sales agents in 27 countries, 15 service points, able to provide technical support in any country of the world. This year CAM turns 73 and, in order to celebrate the territory where it was born and where the headquarters are located, took part is the creation of “PIANORO Vecchio e Nuovo” the new book by Roberto Vitali which tells the story of this integration of past and present. ASAKO HISHIKI interpreta CAM

CAM takes art to exhibitions already since a long time…The first times were at the live corporate events, during which clients, artists and visitors used to leave their mark. Step by step it became clear that such a bond, unusual for this sector, could give much more than that. “WE asked Asako (https://it.asakohishiki.art/) to give an artistic interpretation of our production…We found her concept of transparency…” very interesting, says Donata Martelli, CEO at TecniCAM. This ever stronger bond with Art, which CAM has taken for the first time out of the usual venues in an apparently different sector, offers the opportunity to give an open interpretation  and simultaneously creates a new meaning, renovates besides keeping its roots, just like what happens in our company.   With time, Asako will offer her view thus making us understand that Art, like machine design at CAM, are not distant, and that they are rather linked by intuition, vision, emotion. With RB, a new eco-sustainable packaging

One of the issues that has a very special place for CAM is eco-sustainability, a real mission for us. Our care and production efficacy allowed us to carry out a very important project. Today we introduce an important feature of the RB machine, the result of years of experience and research in the field of product wrapping. A concrete action against pollution and climate changes.     Precedente Successivo We have in fact developed a particular wrapping type for a dairy product (chocolate) both in plastic material and compostable.  The RB is able to process a 100% compostable material in recyclability class A. What does recyclability class A mean? With 1kg of material it is possible to obtain 1kg of carton! It is actually bio-polymeric plastic with thermo-welding and compostable characteristics.     Precedente Successivo     Precedente Successivo Besides that, the RB machine works with a particular setting of the heating system, so that even if a non-recyclable material is used, such as a NON-GREEN thermo-welding poly-propylene, a minor impact on the environment is guaranteed. CAM: PROJECTED INTO THE FUTURE

CAM use the utmost flexibility in their cartoning machines offering new solutions in a continuously evolving market accepting a challenge by IGB, an italian cartons manufacturer for the pharmaceutical sector. Usually PMM machines can process cartons with thickness up to 0,5 mm only, but together with IGB we have made it possible to work with a thickness by 1,2 mm. Such a format and this special thickness have been certified as CHILD RESISTANT, since thanks to the special design and tuck in closing type, they make it impossible to open the cartons without a special key. That key is located directly on the pack and it’s detachable, besides that, it is clearly visible thanks to its colour which contrasts with the background and for the presence of a mark “KEY”. In order to open the box, it is sufficient to fold the key, as indicated above, and insert into the slot marked as “FLAP”. It has been officially presented in may at the INTERPHEX exhibition in New York City at the stand of IGB, which has registered the patent for this “special” carton design. Artist for a Day at the latest Interpack, the industry’s reference fair

The pandemic has tought us how we need to ridesign our future, and we all must do that! Today we look back at the last exhibition CAM attended, displaying news, machines and complex managment systems, opening the doors to art, by creating inclusive scenography for the public. This environment created at our stand during the last Interpack event, a reference point for this sector, highlighted the importance of collective partecipation, and it underlines how close we are to our customers, in particular from the project point of view. Our flexibility allows us to create customised solutions, which are increasingly regarded as fundamental in the main national markets for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food packaging sector.   Follow us on  Facebook , Instagram, Linkedin
